Boney- “I didn’t even know anyone lived in Iowa… what is there to do in Iowa besides play college football? of course I’m kidding…” Well aside from college football, which I’m not into, I spend most of my time watching corn grow and studying the digestive patterns of pork.

I’m kidding too, of course I went from downtown Chicago for 8 years to Iowa City, and will likely be here for a year, two tops. Iowa City is a great town, a surprising amount of culture and a TON of great bars and restaurants. Think Ann Arbor with a bigger downtown and more entertainment…

…but no Pistons fans. I did once see a young girl, maybe 12 or 13, wearing a Rasheed Wallace jersey in a local grocery store. It might be a little awkward inviting her over to watch a game, no?

I’m temporarily moonlighting in Iowa– meaning that I’m spending a year here until my girlfriend is ready to move her career elsewhere. In the mean time, are there any Iowa-based DBB readers? Boy would I love to share a game with a Pistons fan out here…

I had definately noticed a huge uptick in effort from the Pistons in the past few 3rd quarters. They’re going to be a hard team to beat if they keep outscoring teams 28-14 in the 3rd that’s for sure. That having been said however if the trend becomes known league wide competative teams will simply “lock in” during said quarter too… It’s a great idea in theory but really the game is 48 mins for a reason.

Either way it IS fun to know that you HAVE to make it back to the TV before the half starts if you want to see the Pistons tear someones heart out, so I’m down
