Chauncey Billups’ first (and last?) dunk of the year

A Chauncey Billups dunk happens so rarely I had to put this up for posterity’s sake. Heck, even Billups admitted to adding a little mustard to make up for lost time. From the DetNews:

The highlight of Monday’s Pistons victory came in the third quarter when Billups took a long outlet pass from Antonio McDyess, charged to the rim, rose up and — dunked.

“I had to show them I could get up and swing on that rim a little,” Billups said.

“That dunk was so old-school,” Richard Hamilton said. “He should have gotten a technical foul for hanging on the rim. But he said to me, ‘I had to let all the cameras get their snapshots in so everybody can see I can still dunk.’ ”

Haha! That reminds me of when Joe Dumars put down a one-handed dunk on a wide-open fast break against Atlanta in one of his last years. The bench went crazy, and he was saying afterwards how he had to show the young guns he could still get up. Good times.

Hey Matt, since we’re playing Washington tonight, I thought it would be a good time to ask about Ian Cameron. He’s obviously not a part of DBB anymore, and I just hope everything’s all right with him and that his profession as a lawyer is flourishing. If you ever get a chance, tell him we miss him (and his real-time recaps) here and wish him the best. Surely he didn’t defect, right?

I was wondering about IC myself.

Ian is doing well. I keep trying to coax him out of his DBB semi-retirement but to no avail — dude’s a busy guy these days.
