I’m really sorry your time in Piston’s land was unsuccessful. IMHO you’d have been better off if people weren’t expecting you to replace Ben Wallace and/or Sheed was as motivated as TD. Otoh, don’t lie, 30 million is WAY more than you ever thought you’d make playing basketball and if you keep up with the double doubles in Cha some fool will probably line up with ANOTHER 30 over five, and that’s gonna last you and yours forever because you aren’t a sucker kid who’d spend it all….

All in all Nazr your living the American Dream so enjoy it… and with any luck someone will send you an EC Champs hat and tickets to all the finals games.

That block had me pretty pumped, especially after it led to such an easy lay-up at the other end. The bench is really creating its own identity and leaving its impact on the games lately. That defense was great too. The quick fouls in the 2nd were annoying, but I liked that they remained aggressive and didn’t give up the amount of easy shots that they usually do.

With that kind of defense and the upcoming schedule, I think the Pistons have a pretty good chance of heading into the All-Star break with a 10-game winnng streak under their belts.

Anyway, this thread is supposed to be about Nazr, but I suppose I can digress into the Mavs game a bit. How outrageous was that Amir block? Athletic freak, that boy is.

But really, the funny thing about this is, you started going off about me being a homophobic bigot, after I implied that you were a metrosexual. Last time I checked, metrosexuals aren’t gay, they just act like it. Accusing me of being homophobic for likening you to a metrosexual is an incorrect criticism on your part. Come on buddy, your’re looking like an ignorant guy who uses played out steroetypes to group people together. You referred to me defending me “liberal” viewpoint, which I never claimed to have. I don’t really know what my politcal perspective is, at least how it should be categorized because I have some shit I’m conservative on, and some shit I’m liberal on.

So, am I to assume that I am full of “phony machismo” for allowing myself to be ammused by the idea of guys loving other guys? It’s not that I’m a homophobic conservative that has a vendetta against homosexuals. Really, I’m indifferent on the matter. While I dont’ really understand the concept of a man choosing another man over a woman, I’m tolerable of it and think that they deserve every right and freedom that every other human being is rightfully entitled to. That doesn’t mean there isn’t humor to be found in it. As for lesbians, I’m like a lot of other 18 year-old guys, I think lesbians are awesome!

All in all, you’re right…We’re here to talk about basketball, something we’ve both strayed from. So I’ll let this be my last post on this issue if you can manage to do the same and not have to have the last word in a squabble with an immature 18 year-old. Please allow me to apologize to you and your loved ones who have suffered through these last 7 years of Bush, that was my bad. You don’t have to pay a ton of attention around here to know that I live in LA (it comes up all the time, especially since we just played the Lakers), and that’s a place that’s probably just a bit more left-wing (that usually means, you know, peaceful, accepting of people, their differences, of mistakes made, and of change) than Humboldt County. And you’re right when you muse that I don’t have anything better to do than expend energy on the subject.

For me, if I can convince just one person to examine their own immaturity, it’s worth it. For someone who is so quick and ardent in defending their liberal, “pro-Obama” viewpoint, you clearly don’t understand much of what he’s about. Born in Hawaii to a Kenyan and an American, living much of his youth in Indonesia with his American mother and Indonesian stepfather, he’s a real life melting pot, what America is supposed to be about. Dude just does not fit in some classic “Presidential” mold. America has homosexuals; it has heterosexuals who aren’t afraid to call a guy good looking. America has pot smokers who are lazy, ones who work hard, ones who couldn’t give a rip about basketball and ones who love basketball. Hell, it even has plenty of fraternity brothers who aren’t full of phony machismo. Last I checked though, we were here to talk about basketball, but I guess you wanted something different.

Apparently you wanted me to clearly explain why I’m so much more awesome than you, but you should probably stop giving me a platform for such discussion so we can get back to the basketball. Maybe we can talk about what was discussed between Travis and Nazr, namely how Nazr addressed his time with the Pistons.

Those of us interested in furthering intelligent Pistons-NBA discourse here don’t bash unoffending parties. If you want to do it WLM1 that’s your choice, it’s just that you’d be acting immature and in a general jackass fashion. The guy isn’t asking for it. And like PG4L said, at least bring it if you’re going to sing it. You piggy-backed off an already lame shot from Ronnie. If it had been Kobe, anyone from the Crack Staff, or any anti-Pistons smack talker, then it’d be fair game. Some dude minding his own, doing his job, interviewing Nazr, is not asking for it.

And what happened to Humboldt being a left wing-leaning place? Obviously that’s not your style if you’re a California resident who clearly knows nothing about marijuana.

On a side note I appreciate most HS level insults, its just that guy wasn’t bad looking enough to earn the burn, therefore it wasn’t funny. You’d have been MUCH better to go for the “rejected extra from Encino Man” angle on that style…

LawerBoy, I’m glad you’ve had those experiences, means nothing to me since I’ve met many lazy stoners that like to sit around and listen to themselves talk with that look. Point is, none of that pertains to the guy I made fun of. Besides, what makes your experiences with those guys’ rocking that “stlye” a more viable point than mine about the lazy stoners? I never questioned the guys basketball knowledge, work ethic, anything that should bother HIM, let alone have random guys on a website sticking up for him. Not the DBB way? Please! I’ve read and posted a fair share of bashing on this website. No potshots? Well, if the guy you’re bashing wears a celtics jersey or is named Kobe, it becomes an exception then? Matt, you did refer to Mr. Bryant as a female comic book villian, did you not? IMO, it’s all in good fun. But if highschool level insults got to you growing up, I’ll personally try to restrain myself next time and respect the emotionally delicate members of this sight. It’s a cold, cold world out there…good to see some people acting as warm blankets.
