One thing I know for sure: Shaq won’t be at the Palace tonight. One thing I’m fairly confident about: there won’t be any jockeys in attendance either. But Natalie from Need4Sheed will be there, sharing the Pistons.com suite with some of her readers. (When will DBB readers get a chance at a suite? Stay tuned …)
And as usual, I’ll be there, covering the game for HOOPSWORLD with pre-game, halftime and post-game reports. As always, leave your thoughts about the game in the comments.

I’m down for Piston’s game!
*I’m down for a Piston’s game!
-I wish we could edit out posts-
Hmmm wild trade rumors and lots of reporters asking questions…I sense a beatdown coming courtesy of the Pistons.
Giving out tickets?
I hope that they are prizes
for the best haiku!
Looks like Shaq to the suns is official, per ESPN.
There is NO ONE at this game…. holy hell. That’s horrible.
Oh…. there is a blizzard outside. Whoops.
How many ugly shots does Mcdyess need to rebound tonight?
The Heat announcers are officially the worst I’ve heard yet. Even worse than that chick that called one of the Bobcats games. I was looking forward to hearing their insight on the whole Shaq thing. But their lead announcer is just terrible. It sounds like he’s doing a really really bad Marv Albert. Catch phrase is “kaboom” with like no emphasis. How can the people at SUN Sports think that the 15 real Heat fans want to listen to this guy. I’d kill myself if I had to hear him call 82 games a year.
Okay, I know the Heat are really rotten this year, but c’mon guys, let’s play to win.
Other Matt:
I’m watching this game on an internet feed and that is EXACTLY how I feel. Kaboom? Shut up.
What the hell just happened?
shouldn’t be this close!
but a win is a win
Well hey, last year they would have dinked around and lost this game by 20. Looks like complacency is in the rearview mirror.
“Looks like complacency is in the rearview mirror”
If you go into the 4th quarter up by 11 on arguably the worst team in the league and then allow them to score 31, in your own building no less, complacency will remian an issue. Pinon is right, a win is a win, some are just uglier than others. Have to give a SHEEEEEEEEEEED for putting up 26 and 10.
A lot of you said easy win, should get our bench some mins in garbage time, bla bla. Not gona happen when you don’t kill your opponents and let them hang around. This was painful to watch, I hate it down the strech when we need a bucket we take stupid 3’s that don’t fall in, as well as our TRADEMARK cold shooting at some part of the game. Some one else said, that we have what it takes to win the ship this year, you are only kidding your self.
Okay, I know not everyone is sold on the “complacency is in the rearview mirror”, but I really believe they aren’t as lackadaisical as they were last year. You know darn well last year Rasheed would have been bored to death and had checked out within the first few minutes of the game. For them to bring any energy tonight I would have been surprised. It was just one of those days. The weather has been crappy all day (12-14 inches of snow). There were about 3 fans in the building cheering them on. Yeah, it wasn’t a pretty game, but at least they won. Last year they would have just showed up and handed them the game. Who was the player of the game tonight? Sheed
Boian: “Some one else said, that we have what it takes to win the ship this year, you are only kidding your self.”
Exactly what I said was: “We’ve got everything we need to win a championship right now. Over Boston, over LA, over San Antonio. This is the squad.”
One sore game against Miami, that we WON, is not any reason to question that. Were you watching when we trounced Dallas the other night?
I agree MP. The team’s on a six game win streak. I can’t blame them for not getting up to play a team that’s won one of the last twenty games. And they’re playing in front of an empty stadium.
