And to think, Cuban could've resigned Nash all those years ago. Now he's getting an older but inferior point.

Re the Kidd trade, I'm ok with the "win now, worry about tomorrow later" theory. The only problem as applied to here is that the Mavs are giving up way too much here, and how many rings does Kidd have? I mean, how much of an upgrade is it from Harris to a 35yo Kidd?

"Methinks New Jersey is trying to set the stage for a “young, less-cap-crazy but very hungry” Brooklyn club to which would entertain LeBron’s fancy."

That, or they're invoking the old "whenever someone offers you a younger, better player, plus a starting big man, plus draft picks, plus cap flexibility, plus cash, you take the deal," rule.

I think it's safe to say that Cuban is NOT good with PG decisions.

"Oh - and Devean George is playing a dangerous game with his nix."

George: (cell phone rings) What up.
Dirk: Dude, it's Dirk. What the hell is Cuban thinking?

George: Well, it's his team...

Dirk: No, dude, you gotta stop it.

George: What?

Dirk: I've been looking through the paperwork. You had a no-trade clause. Use it, and that will give us time to come up with a plan.

George: I dunno... Hold on, someone's on the other line (click)

Josh Howard: Dude, I've been looking through the paperwork.

George: I know. Hold on, I've got Diggler on the other line (click) Yo, Dirk.

Dirk: Do you know anything about bee stings? Cause I've got a rash...

Does anyone else feel at least a little bit sorry for Devon Harris? He has to spend years under a former PG turned coach in Avery Johnson who was coached by Greg Poppovich, so you know Johnson has been as hard on Harris over the years as much as any other Maverick. Plus, he was part of a 67-win team that experienced a crappy playoff series. I've thought that Harris has been creating his own identity on that team these last couple of years and then out of nowhere he's getting traded to New Jersey. That's not to say that Kidd isn't an upgrade over Harris, but you'd think that Harris had paid enough dues to not get shafted like this.

Chauncey will start the all-star game.

On another note, my wife suggested that Indiana is called the Pacers because their crappy play causes the coach to pace back and forth and scowl.

If that Kidd trade goes down in the next few days, who is going to take his place starting for the East?

Another good win and strong showing by the young guys. Most minutes logged by any player was Chauncey with 30, always a pleasing stat. If there was one thing that has caught my eye lately, it's been McDyess' offensive struggles. I'm not that worried about it, especially with the team system the Pistons use, but I'd like to see him get a few more touches (this really is a very minor complaint).

More work for the kids = good

Rip vs. Kobe in the 3-ball-deal = shhhhweeeeet
