The Pistons are sell-outs

Not surprisingly, the Pistons led the NBA in attendance for the fourth time in five years as the Palace’s sell-out streak has reached 226 games and counting. If attendance were measured strictly by the turnstiles and not tickets sold, I’m curious if the Pistons would still be at the top. I’m not saying they wouldn’t be, but it’d also be disingenuous to say that 22,076 people actually attended every single game.

I think Chicago would be at the top. Their arena is always packed everytime. I rarely see empty seats there, even if the Bulls sucked this year. Also Cleveland could be up there imo. The Q. is really packed all the time. But no matter what, selling 22,076 tickets for every game is no joke, so it’s still huge for the Pistons. If some ticket holders don’t come to the games everytime, then it’s their problem.

Funny how sports teams stress attendance while most other forms of entertainment talk ticket sales or gate receipts. The image of fans eagerly shoehorning their fannies into overcrowded sections is an important part of the image, but a ticket sold is the same either way and requires less BS.
