QD: Don Chaney was fired by the Houston Rockets a year after he won the Coach of the Year Award. Same goes for Carlisle as Pistons coach. I don't know about the actual following offseason though. That's just harsh. Rivers didn't even deserve consideration for CotY though. A monkey could've done his job; he's awful. Unreal that he already has a CotY award for going .500 in his rookie season w/the Magic ('98-99)!

I'm in agreement w/MP and DJ, Horford is a BEAST.

I agree with you DJ, I've always liked Horford more and wished he had received the ROY. He'll, even a split would have made me happy. While I think Durant might have a better career overall, I have no question that Horford had a better year and a greater impact on his team.

Al Horford should have been the ROY, He was the key player in ATL getting into the playoffs, his royal higness Lord Durant was unable to get Seattle within spitting distance of the playoffs.
Statistically these two young men look like this:
Season	Team G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG
BPG TO PF PPG EFF EFF-48
07-08	ATL 81 77 31.4 .499 0.0 .731 3.1 6.6 9.7 1.5 0.7 0.9 1.69 3.30 10.1 16.5 25.27

07-08	SEA 80 80 34.6 .430 .288 .873 0.9 3.5 4.4 2.4 1.0	0.9 2.90 1.50 20.3 15.6 21.66

I believe the the stats are pretty telling, Eff and EFF-48 favor Horford, even though Horford averaged more than double Durants Personal Fouls, the avrage Turn overs more than makes up for that. That's just my opinion...I could be (was) wrong.

Great quote from Celtic Blog (quite a fun read today):

"Has anyone ever finished 2nd in Coach of the Year voting and been fired in the same year? We're one loss away from seeing that happen."

Seeing this go to 7 makes me think Detroit will see Cleveland in the Conference Finals again. I would absolutely love that. We've got one hell of a vendetta to solve.

The worst thing about this series for the celts: its that they have tried in every game. The pistons will all know didn't care during certain parts in the philly series. The celts on the other hand haven't taken a night off and still find themselves in a game 7 with a team that has MIKE BIBBY (my inner Stephen A. Smith and J.E Skeets is showing) as their pg.

It's not so much that the Hawks have pushed Boston to seven that should concern Celtics fans, it's that they've caved in every close game.

I think Cleveland will handle the pressure better when the games get close.

Everyone shouldn't jump off the Celtics wagon just yet. I still believe it's merely a bad matchup for them, with Atlanta's athleticism. I'm of the opinion that if the Mavs had met the Spurs last year they would've beaten them (again), as they at the time matched up with them as well as anybody. Instead the Spurs went on to another title, while Dallas has now taken a step backward. Unfortunately for them, they met up with a team who had their number, records and seedings be damned (see Pistons vs. Jazz). Still assuming Boston handles Game 7, Celts-Cavs is hard to call. Cleveland really had no business causing Detroit all those problems in '06 and '07, but I'll take Boston in 6 (maybe 7). Boston's struggles with Atlanta shouldn't cause anyone to make the leap that they'll cave to Detroit. I'd still view the C's as a slight favorite. Though Orlando may be a better team than Philly, I don't think their anymore difficult a matchup. I don't think it'll go past six games.
Lawyerboy: We're all Pistons fans here regardless of viewpoint, feel free to disagree anytime.
Watch out for Milwaukee in '09!

Did anyone hear the highlights of the Atlanta radio announcers? Hilarious stuff.

Thank you Celtics, Mavs and Suns for putting the past 6 years of Pistons ball in perspective.

In a series between Boston and Cleveland who gets the calls?
I mean the league loves the Celtics, they want Lakers/Celtics after all, but Lebron is well loved by the officials too. Will it just be a 7 game series of 21? I fear for Detroit if they play any of those teams just because of potential bias by the officials towards their opponents.
Of course we must get past the Magic first. (ON) Pistons in 5, (OFF) Pistons in 7.
