Chauncey Billups was still sore at practice this morning but the training staff doesn’t seem too concerned. From A. Sherrod Blakely:
“I’ve seen about 2,000 hamstrings,” said Arnie Kander, Detroit’s strength and conditioning coach. “I look at this as being nothing more than what we’ve seen in the past. Because of the slowness of the movement; because of the nature of what occurred, him being able to pull out of it and the fact that he feels this morning the same as he did last night … that’s a great sign. Usually the next morning, you feel worse.”
Also, as a testament to Arnie’s amazing healing touch, he also found time to give Krista Jahnke advice on her pregnancy:
I asked him jokingly on Wednesday whether he can give me an advice to have a pain-free labor (I’m seven and a half months pregnant).
He didn’t skip a beat, saying, “Sure,” and launching into a quick rundown of stuff that was over my head. He mentioned “healers” and said something about how it’s all about “moving energy.” He said his wife had two nearly pain-free labors without any medication.
If he can do that, what’s a strained hamstring?
The man is a wizard, I tell you.

whatever arnie kander makes, it’s not enough.
Perhaps when covering the Pistons for now, Krista Jahnke should keep her distance from Jason Maxiell.
+1 for LB
This news make me feel much better. Even if Chauncey doesn’t play on Saturday, I think Stuckey proved he can dominate Jameer Nelson just as well as Chauncey, if not more so.
Yeah, that was definitely a Matt W. to Lawyerboy alley oop.
kudos LB
I would like to seem play a limited amount minutes depending on how he feels (and also the overall flow of the game).
Definetly gotta activate Dixon and/or Hunter though..
Arnie Kander > Jesus
LB that was the funniest post in a long, long time. A three and the foul!
I still think, contrary to ESPN and other media outlets, that the Pistons would not be in dire trouble in this series even if CB didn’t come back. Tougher? Yes. But we’d still win I believe. The team is just too well rounded. And probably the Bigs will actually show up on Saturday. Tay, though, was the man.
The loss doesn’t bother me too much, because there will be game 5 now, and I’ve got tickets… boom! I hope its a close-out game. Night, night Lando.
Charles Barkley said the same thing last night Rick. Im not too sure about that. As great as our other gaurds are, Billups has always been a Magic Killer both on offense and defense. Plus he is our glue that holds us together. But we’ll see. Rather have him on the court than off.
I hope Chauncey comes out taking command on Saturday.
“JackDutch” yeah man. Detroit got the best physicians. There will be blood come Saturday and the Magics will pay for blindsided him like that. I thought there should have been some kind of a foul.
Thanks for all the praise guys, I love me some topical humor. Regarding Chauncey, I agree 100% with Dash Rick. Juan Dixon could legitimately challenge to be a 7th or 8th man on pretty much any team still left in the playoffs not named the Pistons. Based on that, I say we’re juuuuuust fine.
The bigger key for the series is handling Rashard and Hedo. Dwight Howard will get his but Rashard and Hedo create matchup problems on offense (although Rashard can be chumped on defense).
Attacking Nelson and Rashard on offense would be most advised. Taking advantage of Dwight Howard’s hunger for blocked shots would be good too (a few oops to Maxiell should take care of that).
OT: I am a witness to LeBron James stinking up the joint. Man. He’s too good to keep playing like that.
Dear LeBron James,
Please return to the form of play you displayed all season when you provided slightly more than two assists to every turnover that you committed in a game. This slightly lower than 1:1 ratio is not cutting it for us. Also, please find it in your heart to shoot at least 40% against the Celtics (not 11% and 25% as you did in Games 1 and 2 respectively) for the rest of the series. You can turn things around. You did it after Game 2 against the Pistons last year. Remember LeBron, you averaged 14.5 ppg in Games 1 and 2 against the Pistons last year and 31.5 ppg in Games 3-6. Please remember this and make it your mission to replicate those results. Thank you.
Sincerely,
LawyerBoy (and Garrett?)
LB wins the thread.
If it is baby Jahnke’s destiny to be eaten, Jason Maxiell will make it so. Who are we to question his wisdom?
I miss a few rounds on DBB, and almost miss a LawyerBoy moment of comic gold? What a fool I was… +12, LB.
Man I really want the Cavs to play better (dirty) and break a few limbs on both sides
I will co-sign that for sure, LB.
+1 to Kevin S. for babyeater wisdom.
Life, and death. This duplicitous edge upon which we all tread. New life: hopeful, optimistic, embodied in newborn babies, brought to this world by healers such as Kander. And death: babies eaten, devoured, by this monstrosity we call JMax.
