Chauncey Billups will be on the court for the start of the Eastern Conference Finals, whenever that may be. From Joanne Gerstner of the Detroit News:
Billups, who has missed nearly three playoff games with a strained right hamstring, said Thursday he’s ready to play again.
Billups practiced almost up to capacity with the team.
“It’s just good to be out there,” Billups said. “My full-out sprint is not where I want it to be, but it’s not like I’m that fast anyways.”
If the Celtics win on the road in Cleveland (I know, I know, but it could happen) on Friday, the ECF could start on Sunday. If the Celtics and Cavs play seven games, the ECF won’t start until Tuesday.

off topic, but:
did spurs fan really start chanting “horry! horry!” after robert horry knocked david west out of the game? looked like a clean pick, but that sounded like a classless crowd. i hope i misheard that.
Good to see Chauncey is ready to play.
And awful to hear the crowd in SA with the Horry chant. You did not mishear that, JackDutch. SA really is dirty, and its crowd with it. How can you not only defend but applaud a team that thrives in the playoffs because it deliberately tries to injure the other team´s best players?
If you watch the replay carefully, you can see how Horry has an upward motion of the elbow just when West touches him. It was not a clean pick.
great to hear that news bro… hopefully he can play like nothing happened…
also ot, but terry porter is interviewing for the phoenix job.
hopefull, dg.but, justice for San Antonio will come from Detroit in the NBA finals.
wouldn’t it be great to get revenge against Cleveland in the ECF and San Antonio in the finals? it’d be a beautiful thing…
“…but it’s not like I’m that fast anyways.”
HAHA! You gotta love Chauncey’s attitude, so easy going yet so confident at the same time. Even if he isn’t %100, it won’t make too much of a difference. Big Shot’s generally slow as mollasses (not like it’s stopped him from crushing guards in the past!). I’m expecting a big series from him regardless of which team we play, as I’m sure the fire under his ass has reached high temps. through having to witness the last 2 playoff games on the bench.
As long as they keep using Rip to guard faster PGs, the Pistons can do quite well with CB being 90% instead of 100%.
Yeah, Mike Payne, I used to wonder whether it would be better to play against Cleveland or Boston, but seeing how truly ungreat Boston is, I´m leaning towards beating Cleveland in the ECF. Nobody will say that Boston is better than Detroit if they lose against Cleveland, and thus beating the LeBrons would state clearly who are the beast of the East.
I actually don´t want SA to get out of the West, and am still pulling for NO to win this game 7. But if they get out of the West, if Detroit beats them, if the Stones ridicule Horry in particular, all will be fair in the basketball world, even if just for a moment. It would be coming full-circle, you know? Righting our most important wrongs, and coming out on top of everything.
Well, after last night’s Cavs-Celtics game, Chauncey and the other Pistons will get to/have to wait ’til Tuesday.
