I love how he says he is on his team about playing hard all the time, leaving it all on the floor. I think even Rip in his post-game interviews realizes that this year has to be it for this team.

It’s weird how much the spotlight has been on McDyess the last few days. I just read an awesome article about his career from NBA.com that was linked in one of the comments (thanks, who ever put the link), then Mike Breen pretty much spent the entire game reiterating the article over the air, then McDyess comes out an has a turn-back-the-clock performance (minus the dunks), and now here is his being touted as the face of the Pistons (not that there’s anything wrong with that). McDyess is the man, and I’m glad he came to Detroit.
From his first game as a Piston, when he punted the ball down the court, you could tell how badly he wants to win. I’m glad that everyone else is starting to see that too.
I think Dyess is channeling his inner 2006 Kenny Rogers.
It is an honor to have a guy like Antonio on our team. He said he has been blessed and we are as well to have him on our team. Antonio McDyess - keep up the hard work and the example you are giving to everyone.
Alas he is not, which is why all those things you mentioned apply to the current Pistons team.

Mcdyess played like a mad man last night, it’s weird how non of the other starters are being the first man to come out and lead the team. The core should realize that their days of competing for a chmapionship are numbered and it seems like the “newest” memeber of the core is the only one who realizes it.
We don´t know what happens in the locker room, but I´m pretty sure a big reason the Pistons haven´t rolled over and died is McDyess. I think seeing him talk to his teammates after one of the horrendous losses of this postseason would be inspiring, and I can only be grateful the other starters play with a fire under their butt out of loyalty and friendship to him.
I am a lebron/cavs fan first off, but since they are out I like the Pistons chances. there was a good post on last nights game on the hoop doctors website http://thehoopdoctors.com/online/?p=51 . They actually make mention of McDyess and how much he’s transformed his game after his comeback and lost explosive
Dyess needs more attention for what he does out there. He is definitely the most consistent player in the Pistons rotation. Without him the Pistons wouldn’t be nearly as good this year.
If Dyess is open, we need to feed it to him. He’s shooting 56% the last two series. If the Celtics want to help, it will mean abandoning their plan to pack the defense in the lanes.
I think every Pistons fan has always respected his heart, but it seems that this year in the post-season he’s really got the drive; more so than the last couple of years. He’s always been productive, but he’s definitely been throwing down ever since he busted his nose up against the Sixers. He seems unstoppable with that 15-17 FT. jumper.
I also want to mention the love I’ve had for Antonio ever since he WWE-style clotheslined Varejao (SideShow Bob)when he tried driving the lane in last year’s ECFs.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I’m really impressed with how the Pistons handled getting the shaft last night. Officiating has always been one of those things that made us implode in the playoffs. Sheed was especially impressive. At one point he looked like he was ready to bust out some charts and graphs when he was arguing with Crawford - a far cry from last year in Cleveland.

That’s fine. I don’t need to check Rip’s hotspots, he’s great midrange specialist. He fills up the cup each night from the field and from the line. This year was one of his better all around years.
Out of all the former Wizards, he’s the one I like the least. If he brings another ring to this team then I’ll 100% lighten up. Until then, him and Chauncey are the reason why this team strains itself trying to pat themselves on the back.
Quick D: Yes, I’m aware. It was also at the point where most of our squad fell apart, so I can’t blame Antonio for the demise of the Pistons in the last ECFs.
