Boney: Funny, funny. Of all people, like I would trade for him? I wouldn't even trade away the kid who always dances shirtless on the PalaceVision for him, and that kid doesn't even take the floor!

LawyerBoy,

We don't want to see any trade ideas involving Kendrick Perkins.

Regards,
Boney, Matt Watson, Sauce1977, that Prophecy guy who had Philly beating us in the first round, PistonsGirl4Life (where did she go, I passed her in comments?), and the rest of normal thinking fans.

JD: Relax man, I know how you get with the pessimism sometimes. But, this isn't Cloverfield, my man. Joe is not the giant monster who's going to destroy everything in his way (unless everything in his way is what you call other GMs). He said "changes, not fire sale". Hell, we may see all core 4 back, as it's not like Joe can control what he can get and it's not like because Joe SAYS something it's become fact. I'm more impressed with what Joe does and doesn't do than what he says in a press conference right after we've been eliminated. Besides, if he ever gets a load of my soon-to-guest-post trade ideas, we'll be just fine.

i saw 'cloverfield' over the weekend. as i was watching game 2, THAT'S what i was hoping would happen: giant monster steps on neu-garden. i was rooting for that. sadly it didn't happen.

also, watching this series angers me soooooo much because i KNOW we would have beaten l.a. the guys that tay has issues matching up with are 3s who are stronger than him (lebron, pierce). finesse 3s like mcgrady and kobe, he eats up. gasol is soft, and the rest of that squad ain't ready to shine. my only concern going in would have been lamar odom, and he looks out of sorts. we were the 2nd best team in the league this year.

we're going to blow up the 2nd best team in the league.

Correct, QD.

I love basketball. I hate the NBA.

If there was a league alternative, I'd plead for Bill Davidson to consider it.

Didn't see the game because I was at the Dodger game where I was outnumbered by Cubs fans, but according to Phil Jackson:

Leon Powe got more free throws in 14 minutes of play than the Lakers did the whole game.

I can't even write clearly, really.

There's little hope for a fair match in this league.

"Lose a solid post presence who can shoot the three and defend."

Doesn't help if your solid post presence is too soft to get his ass on the block.

No. Gain a solid post presence. Lose a solid post presence who can shoot the three and defend.

As for Hardin, I think the Leon Powe factor makes it a non-issue. I'm not terribly impressed with his rebounding numbers in college.

If we are looking for a Ben Wallace clone, you can't go wrong with Joey Dorsey. Everything about that guy screams Pistons, doesn't it?

Spitballing here...

Sheed and the 2nd round pick we get from Min. for Curry/Wilson Chandler

Gain an dominant post presence. Lose a dominant post defender.

Starting Lineup:
Chauncey, Rip, Tay, Maxiell, Curry
Rest of the Rotation:
Stuckey, McDyess, Amir, Chandler/Hermann, with a dash of Afflalo

Now I know you hear Curry and you're immediately skeptical (I don't blame you).

But, I think a collection of big men that includes Curry, Maxiell, McDyess and Amir has a very diverse skill set.

Thoughts?

@LB: Ben Wallace was one the leaders of the championship team, but he was not the anchor. I think the bench we had then played more of an anchor role than Big Ben. That being said, the championship team was hungry as was alluded to by QD, something that has been missing, perhaps one could say Big Bens leadership (or the loss of) has contributed to this. San Antonio's prolific defense aside, Detroit needed offense to beat them in 2005 and my fear is Hardin will move us back to a four man offensive team. Our defense has not suffered and our offense has improved since Wallace left, what the team needs is an attitude adjustment, and Hardin, regardless of his upside sir, will not provide an attitude adjustment to a veteran team. I would think we would want to focus on getting a perimeter guy to give Prince some back-up (or keep Herrmann and work with Afflalo), or maybe another 4 to groom for the eventual departure of McDyess and Rasheed, Amir seems to have the requisite skill sets to play the 5 and Samb is waiting in the wings, seems to me that drafting Hardin right now doesn't help this team for 2 to 3 years (at the earliest), and as previously mentioned, we appear to have the 5 covered.
