It is said that there aren't any great coaches available so why not roll the dice and see if we can strike gold (similiar to what Dallas did with Avery). The guy was respected as a player for his b-ball IQ, he is respected amongst the team, and throughout the league (I believe he was head of the players assoc at one point). He has a good history as a Piston and with Joe. Seems to me that this team is about to get younger anyway. Good hire. Love it.
