This isn’t related to sports but definitely worth your time: Mike Payne, a long-time reader and valued member of the DBB community, shares his personal experience of the Iowa floods over at GearCrave. I hope all DBB readers in Iowa have been as fortunate as he has.

Thanks for mentioning it Matt. It looks like the floodwaters are beginning to recede here, and my city can start the slow task of shaking itself off and getting the displaced back into homes. I’m damn lucky I am on top of this little hill, or I’d share the same fate my neighbors did at the end of my block. Three cheers for my brilliant girlfriend for choosing a solid home!
Strange coincidence MP, but my town just had a really bad storm too.
Winds were something like 150kmh and some guy was killed when he drove into a tree that had fallen on the road. I happened to be driving to a mates place a couple hours earlier and almost drove into a fallen tree as well. Anyway, best of wishes to your neighborhood.
keep dry, mp. hope everything shakes out ok.
