This is a week old but new to me: Detroit mayoral candidate Dave Bing pledged today that if elected to office he would not collect a salary. Instead, Bing said he would reallocate the $176,176 annual mayoral salary to hire more officers within the Detroit Police Department. Wow. Classiest thing I’ve read in a long while.
Yeah that is about month old news but worth mentioning because that is a very charitable thing to do. They were saying that the other people who are running with him were saying that he doesnt even live in the state of Michigan but really what does that even matter because honestly there are too many people from Michigan that cant handle this and maybe an outsider would be just what the doctor ordered.

Dave Bing is a noble man. Hopefully he can resurrect Detroit’s image, because Kilpatrick brought it up and then dragged it down. Bing will bring class back to Motown, that’s for sure.
