That’s DBB reader Q Dog, reppin’ Detroit Bad Boys before a game during the Pistons’ recent stop in Portland. Honestly, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a picture of someone else wearing a DBB t-shirt, so I was pretty psyched when he passed this along. Check out his pics and other shots submitted by readers in the DBB Flicker pool. Feel free to add your own (or email them to me and I’ll do it for you).
Thanks to J.E. Skeets for passing this along — he’s always had a way with the YouTubes, you know? If you notice, that’s not one of the real commercials, but a nicely done fake — I love how the kid just about loses it halfway through.
The picture below was sent in by DBB reader Jill — that’s her 10-month-old daughter Ameliya, who I’m guessing actually cries about fewer calls than the man who made her jersey famous (I kid because I love, Rip!)
If you have any cool Pistons pictures, add them to the Detroit Bad Boys group on Flickr (or email them to me, and I’ll eventually add them for you).
Good game for the boys in blue! I got there early and for my efforts was rewarded with a Raef LaFrentz bobblehead, good times. Some of the photos are a bit blurry, I didn’t have the sweetest seats in the house. There WERE a ton of Pistons fans in the Garden tonight, more than I have ever noticed in the past. (I haven’t missed a Piston game in Portland since ‘89) I also pimped the site to everyone I took photos of and was selected to do a halftime win money deal, until they saw the Piston lid. Oh well, I had fun.
I’m curious, did the Raef Lafrentz bobblehead come complete with a broken leg? In any case, a few of Q-Dog’s pics are below, and the rest can be seen in the Detroit Bad Boys pool on Flickr. Thanks for sending these in, Q!
Forgot to include this in the recap (I do that a lot), but special thanks to DBB reader Tim for the screen grab of yesterday’s announcing crew. I knew we were on to something last May!
DBB reader BigBoyIndo with a brilliant comment:
“You might ask why I get called Skeletor, well the answer is really simple. First, you take a look at my face, I look like Skeletor. Okay, right? I legitimately scare the crap out of kids. And secondly, you have to consider what Joe Crawford saw and that was the fact that I really, really do look like Skeletor.”
Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups both tried to present Wallace with a red headband before the game. Lindsey Hunter greeted him wearing one himself, all in honor of Wallace’s headband stand with the Bulls earlier this season.
“I think the whole team came out with those headbands. I think that was premeditated on their part,” Wallace said, smiling. “It was all good though.”
Here another that DBB reader Roscoe sent me — that’s Ben at center court talking to some of the Pistons while they’re stretching, as well as Carlos Delfino chatting with someone who appears to Andres Nocioni, a fellow Argentinian:
Special thanks to diebmx, who added this — quite possibly the world’s greatest picture — to the Detroit Bad Boys photo pool on Flickr. Words can’t express how badly I want this thing framed and hanging on the wall of my office. I asked diebmx where he found it, and he replied with this:
I found that poster on a small chinese convenience store around Canal Street in NYC. They had that at street level behind a huge glass and it was by night so that was the best i could do with my camera and some photoshop editing. They had the other poster besides, the one of the stress of narcotics (my next picture on the stream) so that was quite surrealistic.
I don’t know, i was a big lakers fan when I was a kid and I hated the bad boys when they won the first title ring against them. Once I grew up i started to really understand the greatness of these Pistons.
And now i’m a devoted fan!
Check this picture, is the same one, taken in the same place by someone other. It seems that there is only a copy of that poster in the whole world…
From the other link, this store appears to be on Mott and Bayard — anyone in NYC know where that is? Has anyone ever seen this poster before, and better yet, does anyone out there have a lead on how I can get my hands on one?
I encouraged readers attending the season opener against the Bucks to submit their digital pictures to the Detroit Bad Boys group pool on Flickr, but then I neglected to check back to see if anyone did. Lo and behold, someone did: the above is a shot of the national anthem being sung by Michael Cavanaugh of Billy Joel’s “Movin’ Out.”
I saw this picture and my jaw just dropped. That is an incredible shot — very nice work. Thanks to Flickr user who_jintao(Nik Thompson, is that you?) for submitting this picture to the Detroit Bad Boys group.
I think we all need to pause for a moment to reflect on the general awesomeness that is the internet.
Angela, a Detroit Bad Boys reader and frequent commenter, is down in Miami, but that doesn’t mean she’s not representing the D — nice work! If you have any Pistons pictures you’d like to share, add them to the Detroit Bad Boys group on Flickr.
We’ve had a lot of great additions to the Detroit Bad Boys group on Flickr, including over 70 pictures from Game 2 (thanks, Joe!). Here are some that caught my eye:
That’s Rasheed Wallace above on the left attempting a three-point shot with a ball in each hand, and on the right is Ben Wallace playing some tough defense on Drew Gooden. Below on the left is Chauncey Billups on PalaceVision during the pre-game, and on the right is Tayshaun Prince inbounding the ball during Game 5 against the Bucks (nice work, Comstock!)
Check out the Detroit Bad Boys group on Flickr to peruse over 300 reader-submitted pictures (as this is being published, there are exactly 313 pictures — it’s a sign!), and when you’re done, add your pictures!
