Thanks for the memories, Grant! You were a fun Piston, and a great guy, and I wish you could have stuck around Detroit longer. Good luck in all your future endeavors!
Without mentioning Joe Dumars by name, Van Gundy blamed Detroit’s president of basketball operations – and not Lawrence Frank, who was fired… after two seasons – for the Pistons’ failure in the past few years. -------- A lot more on the link above

Really bummed about this -- was hoping the Pistons might snag Gregg Popovich 2.0. Previously: Budenholzer interviews with Detroit [link].

A few things about the WNBA appeal to Laimbeer, who has said he won't use this job as a springboard for another NBA coaching job. "I like [the WNBA] because there is no babysitting involved. There's no recruiting and you just draft players. They are grown adults, you treat them accordingly," Laimbeer said. "I like that they listen very well, much better than the guys, by far. The guys think they know everything. Women have egos too, but the guys think they are it because of the money." [More on link]
Ryan Field Detroit's version of Chris Rose, is well becoming Chris Rose. Fox making a play to take some territory from ESPN with FS1. And Field is part of the first charge. With FS1, NBCSPORTS NETWORK, CBS SPORTSNETWORK and ESPN laying off people does the TV sports landscape become more diverse? Or is does ESPN slay all competitors?
Hey guys. I wrote a mock draft (this link is just for the lottery, the next part is tomorrow). Let me know what yall think.
"And keep this in mind as the draft approaches. Zeller would have a higher upside than Monroe at a much cheaper price. Zeller already has the midrange offensive game Monroe still lacks. Pairing Zeller with Drummond would improve floor spacing and create potential matchup difficulties because Zeller’s midrange shooting ability would force an opposing big away from the basket."
