As you probably know by now, Alex Acker beat out Ronald Dupree for the final roster spot, prompting the Pistons to trade Dupree to the Timberwolves for a future second-round pick sometime in the next three years.
Good move by Joe Dumars recouping some value from a player we would have been forced to waive in the first place. The best-case scenario from Dupree's perspective would have been clearing waivers, receiving his guaranteed salary from Detroit and another minimum salary with another team, but this is a close second, especially considering there's no way Dupree would have cleared waivers, and the fact that he should make an impact on the rotation for his new team.
