Last week, Matt posted about a brilliant mp3 sample of Sheed's lyrical stylings (thanks again to Natalie at Need 4 Sheed) in which he spits the words "My wife says, 'Sheed stop gettin' them techs." Well Sheed, I am afraid I'm going to have to side with the wifey on this one, especially given the NBA's new policy linking technical fouls with suspensions. As A. Sherrod Blakely points out on MLive, Sheed could miss as many as five games this season if he keeps racking up techs at his current pace.
In Saturday's loss to Utah, Wallace received his fourth technical in the last seven games. A new NBA rule this season regarding technical fouls includes the possibility of suspensions. If a player picks up his 16th technical of the season, he will be suspended for a game. After that, for every other technical (18, 20, 22, etc.), that player would be suspended for a game.
Wallace, who has an NBA-high nine technicals this season, is on pace for 24. That would result in him being suspended for a total of five games this season.
Could this be some elaborate scheme orchestrated by Sheed to get Darko some minutes? After all, Sheed is a Darko fan.
"I am telling you, when he gets a chance to play major minutes, he's going to be a hell of a player."
Don't I wish.
