NY Daily News: Chauncey, Rip, and Ben are All-Stars

According to the NY Daily News, Chauncey, Rip and Ben will be named to the Eastern Conference All Star squad when reserves are announced tomorrow. Still no word yet on whether Sheed will replace injured Jermaine O'Neal in the lineup; check it out:

[Larry] Brown voted for all five Pistons starters to make the East All-Star team and at least three - Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton and Ben Wallace - made it as reserves, according to a league source. It is unclear if Rasheed Wallace will join them.

Toronto's Chris Bosh made the cut while the Nets' Jason Kidd and Washington's Gilbert Arenas did not make it, according to the source. Kidd or Arenas could be chosen by NBA commissioner David Stern as a replacement for Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal, who was voted a starter by the fans but will not play because of a groin injury.

The reserves will be announced tomorrow.

There's a lot to digest here, but assuming the article is true, only three spots (four, counting O'Neal's starting spot) remain for the likes of Kidd, Arenas, Paul Pierce, Vince Carter, Michael Redd, Dwight Howard, and Tay Tay.Note: this is assuming that Ben will be the only backup for Kazaam. (On Tayshaun: don't sleep on the fact that two coaches now, LB and Doc Rivers, have stated that they'll be voting for all five Piston starters).
