All of you MSU Spartans fans will appreciate this: the Detroit News had a quick blurb today saying that the Pistons added Mateen Cleaves to their Vegas Summer League team yesterday. He's replacing Frank Williams, who was not able to attend.
If you're like me, you've more or less lost track of Cleaves over the years, but he's actually managed to play in at least a few games in the NBA every single year since being drafted by the Pistons back in 2001. He played 27 games with the Sonics last year, and also spent time down in the D-League with Fayetteville, coincidentally the same affliate that Detroit shared with three other teams, though he was not under contract with the Pistons.
