We mentioned Mike James earlier today: I said the Pistons should go after him, Chris McCosky said even if they do he's a long-shot.
But ESPN Insider's Chris Sheridan, who's opinion around these parts admittedly doesn't hold much weight, thinks otherwise. Sheridan lists James second in his list of 10 players most likely to be traded, and here are his thoughts:
In the category of "seemed like a good idea at the time" (see Harrington, Al, in Indiana), we point to Minnesota's signing of this free agent last summer as the next mistake the Wolves will try to rectify.
The Heat are very interested, but so too are the Pistons and Cavaliers. And since Detroit (able and willing to move Nazr Mohammed, Dale Davis and Flip Murray) can likely outbid Cleveland and Miami, the educated guess here is that James is back playing Deeee-troit bas-ket-ball by this time next week.
Can't say I'm nearly as confident as he is (I'm guessing it's something less than 50-50 for it to happen), but I'd sure as hell endorse the move if it goes down.
