Chris McCosky: Rasheed to sit tonight

Chris McCosky had some interesting tidbits in his blog today:

The Pistons aren't going to take any chances with Rasheed Wallace's left foot. He's going to sit out tonight's game against the Heat. If it were a playoff game, he would play, but it doesn't make any sense to stress it now -- especially in the first of a back-to-back set and with such a busy schedule the rest of this month.

As for who will replace Wallace tonight, Flip Saunders wasn't sure after shoot-around. First he said he was leaning toward starting Jason Maxiell, but had Antonio McDyess working with the first team during shoot-around. Afterward, he said he hadn't made up his mind.

Here's to hoping that Maxiell gets the start -- not that he deserves it more so than McDyess, but because McDyess is a rhythm player who's used to coming off the bench.

Flip Murray spent a couple of days away from the team during the four-day break, and McCosky told us why today: his girlfriend jus gave birth to a baby girl. Congrats! But for his sake, I hope he doesn't bring the baby around the locker room.

McCosky also mentioned that Chris Webber's eye is much better, which is a relief considering how much it was bothering him earlier this week.
