From Pistons.com:
Due to the exclusive broadcast rights of the NBA on ABC, no other teams can air their games (locally or nationally) when ABC is broadcasting a national game. At 3:30 p.m. on March 25, ABC will airing the Phoenix Suns vs. Sacramento Kings game.
Therefore, the 3:30 p.m. Detroit Pistons vs. Milwaukee Bucks game cannot be aired at its normal game time. Instead, the game will be taped delayed and shown in its entirety on MyTV20 Detroit at 7:00 p.m. in Detroit.
Despite the television tape delay, the Pistons vs. Bucks game will still be heard on 1130AM WDFN at the normal 3:30 p.m. game time.
Honestly, I don't know why the NBA even bothers scheduling Sunday afternoon games at the same time as the ones on ABC -- this tape delay stuff seems right out of 1986. So while we're stuck refreshing box scores, the rest of the nation is "treated" to Suns-Kings, one of the least compelling match-ups of the day.
