Tayshaun Prince and Chauncey Billups are on Team USA

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Coach Mike Krzyzewski made the final cuts for Team USA, and as expected both Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince survived. From the AP:

The U.S. roster includes: Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, Dwight Howard, Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, Redd, Miller, Tyson Chandler, Tayshaun Prince and Deron Williams.

Tayshaun's reaction from the LA Times:

Forward Tayshaun Prince, said being released from Team USA is much different than trying out for a high school team.

"Most of the people on this team have not been in that position before," Prince said. "This is probably the first time that they've really been in this position. But when you look at this situation, you really can't be disappointed because you know the guy next to you is just as good. So you know what you are dealing with as opposed to high school, where a move may be made and you question the decision."

From USA Basketball's official site:

The USA will open play against Venezuela on Aug. 22 (8 p.m. PDT), followed by games against the U.S. Virgin Islands on Aug. 23 (8 p.m. PDT), Canada on Aug. 25 (12 p.m. PDT) and Brazil on Aug. 26 (3 p.m. PDT).

It's a round-robin tournament that consists of three rounds. I'm not sure how many of the games will be televised, but tomorrow's game is supposed to be on ESPN Classic at 11pm ET -- at the very least, it might be worth staying up to watch the first half.
