The Pistons give their fans gas

New, comments

No, seriously. From Pistons.com:

On Monday, October 27, from 5:00-6:30 p.m., players from the Detroit Pistons will be pumping gas for fans, courtesy of Meijer and the Detroit Pistons, at the Meijer Store located at 800 Brown Road in Auburn Hills. All fans entering the Meijer Store gas station during that time frame will receive $20 of free gas per car.

Pistons players, including Richard Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace, Antonio McDyess and Jason Maxiell, Hooper, the Automotion dance team and staff from the front office will be stationed at the pumps to service the fans during the event.

"With the heightened focus on economy and the fact that all metro Detroiters are feeling a pinch at the pump, we, along with our good friends at Meijer thought this would be a great opportunity to help some Pistons fans AND get them ready for the upcoming season," said Pistons CEO Tom Wilson.

Update: Natalie from Need4Sheed was there, and was helped by Kwame Brown.
