Tonight, Detroit will have the added task of dealing with Antawn Jamison, who did not play in the first meeting. He averages just above 20 points per game and collects just under 10 rebounds per game so far this season. With him in the lineup, the Pistons can't just focus on the stopping Gilbert Arenas, who is capable of taking over games himself.
This game will mark Flip Saunders first trip back to The Palace and first trip back to Detroit since being fired by the Pistons in June 2008. The Wizards played in Michigan during the preseason, but the game was in Grand Rapids, so Flip did not see his old building of employment and most of his former hometown fans.
Detroit has defeated the Wizards in three straight regular season affairs, including the 106-103 win last month. They will be flying high after a win against the Bucks the other night, while the Wizards are looking to recover from somewhat of a heart breaker against the Raptors.
Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva, who were the keys to their win against the Wizards in November, will both be coming off the bench. Those are some expensive seats.
Tip off is at 6 PM EST. I'll be watching and here for you if you want to discuss. Recap should be up shortly after the game. The game is on FSD+. You can check your listings here.
