Interestingly enough, I saw this on twitter, something I wish I was banned from because I spend way too much time sifting through tweets for news links.
Anyway, the Detroit News reports that Allen Iverson, who continues to find himself in the news despite being out for the season, has been banned from Greektown and MGM Casinos in light of recent news that his bodyguard was involved in a fight at one of the casinos. However, that isn't the only reason cited. Apparently, Iverson has displayed a fair share of "boorish behavior," that the casinos were not too keen on:
Iverson, though, has been banned mostly for his boorish behavior. He is a bad loser, and he loses a lot, often throwing his chips or cards at the dealer. He has been warned about improper behavior at the tables repeatedly. He is often loud and disruptive, according to witnesses, rude to dealers, other players and the wait staff
...You know Iverson's behavior has to be really bad for a casino to ban him. As much money has he spends and losses, and with the casinos all fighting bankruptcy, wow, he had to be a nightmare.
Wow, I can't imagine this humble point guard doing these horrible things. Throwing his chips or cards at the dealer? Some might say that's the most passing Iverson has done all season.
If Iverson isn't allowed to play for the Pistons because of his sore back and is now banned from the motor city casinos, maybe he'll have no other choice but to leave the mitten for good. If that's the case, I think it's safe to say that he probably won't be missed. I look forward to hearing what Jason Whitlock has to say about this.
