Every single one of my game previews has been curiously long. For that reason, and the fact that this game is virtually worthless, I will keep this one relatively short.
The Pistons announced yesterday that they would be resting Richard Hamilton, Antonio McDyess, and Rasheed Wallace for the playoffs. Tayshaun Prince will start to keep his consecutive games streak alive, but won't play much. That means reserves like Arron Afflalo, Amir Johnson, Walter Herrmann!, and even Walter Sharpe (two total minutes so far this season) will get regulars-like minutes.
I imagine Miami will rest most, if not all, of their starters, too. They did last night in their meaningless loss to Atlanta. The Heat do have some meaningful games with the Hawks in the near future though, as they meet in the first round of the playoffs.
This game is basically for scrub pride points. Which team has the better bench players turned starters for a game? Tune in tonight, the last regular season game of the year, to find out.
I have not decided if I will be here for the game thread or not. I may want to rest my aching phalanges for the playoffs, seeing as I don't have any blogging streak to uphold.
