Morning Shootaround: Potential 2nd Round Draft Picks, Another Point Guard, and Ben Wallace Retiring?

It's now June 3rd and that means we are just a few weeks away from the NBA Draft. I would say I can't contain my excitement, but taking a look at past drafts and this year's draft class matched up with our slot, that would be a bit of a lie. The date I'm really looking forward to is July 1. I will admit though that having four draft picks does make the draft more interesting. Things will start to get much more serious around here in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

Until then, here are some links worth looking at; almost all coming from around the Pistons-sphere:

Balls_medium I posted about ten different mock drafts last week, but only three included second round picks. Well, Life on Dumars has a very good list of potential players the Pistons should look at with those three second round picks. After looking at the write up and highlight video, Lester Hudson intrigues me, a lot.

Balls_medium Dave Dial at MLIVE's Full-Court Press has the pre-draft measurements of all the players that could potentially drafted by the Pistons. You can get the rest of the official measurements from the combine over at Draft Express.

Balls_medium Dan Feldman at Piston Powered wonders if the Pistons really need another guard. The Pistons seem to be loaded at the guard position, but with Joe Dumars admitting at his news conference in May that Rodney Stuckey is more of a combo guard, the question is worth asking.

Balls_medium Pistons Nation draws a very distinct difference between the Bad Boys 1991 walkout on the Bulls without shaking hands and Lebron's walkout on the Magic last week. I see the issue with Lebron leaving the floor without shaking hands or talking to media, but I really don't see why it's such a huge deal.

Balls_medium According Full-Court Press, Ben Wallace is mulling over retirement. Ben Wallace is considering retirement because of recent injuries and he claims to not have the same passion he once possessed. I think that's been evident ever since he left Detroit. It's funny what a butt-load of money can do to a poor man's work ethic.

Balls_medium John Davis of Pistonscast wonders what free agents the Pistons should sign this offseason in his latest podcast. Mr. Davis' podcast is pretty fun to listen to, so I highly recommend you go over there and subscribe to the episodes. I promise you won't be disappointed. Personally, I like the 24 second shot clock segment he does with his other host, Deven Khrucell.

Balls_mediumWages of Wins breaks down the Top 15 players at each position based on how many wins they produced. You'll be shocked to learn that Richard Hamilton is not even listed, but Tayshaun Prince and Antonio McDyess are. Thanks to @Brgulker on Twitter for pointing me to this interesting link.
