Oppo Research:
The Hawks were my sleeper team last season, but then they nearly choked in the 1st round of the playoffs against a Bogut-less Bucks before going Houdini against the Magic in Round 2. How did they get better during the off-season? By giving their best playoff disappearing act $120-plus million over six years. I'm not convinced.
They did add some front court depth and drafted mini Jamal Crawford, Jordan, who we'll probably see hear plenty of tonight given the slew of injuries the Hawks currently have. Josh Smith will play limited minutes, while Marvin Williams, Jamal Crawford, Jeff Teague, Jason Collins, and Pape Sky all stayed back in Atlanta.
Keys for Detroit
Play Daye -- He's starting at the 4 and I'd like to see what he can do with big minutes. I mean A LOT.
Pick up the pace -- It's exhibition season, let's see if this team can play at a faster tempo.
Rebound the basketball -- They haven't been good at this in the first two games.
Injuries:
T-Mac (tired legs???), Charlie Villanueva (right hammy), Chris Wilcox (hammy) are all out.
Starting Lineup:
Wallace, Daye, Prince, Gordon, Stuckey
A Relatively Big Question:
How will Daye fair at the PF spot in a starter's role?
