John Kuester will run Pistons' individual draft workouts

John Kuester may not be in Chicago for the NBA Draft Combine, but that doesn't mean he's completely out of the picture. From Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News:

The embattled Pistons coach is in Philadelphia with his family, and has had to endure weeks of speculation about his job security.

On Thursday, Kuester told The Detroit News he'll run all the individual draft workouts when prospects begin making their way to Auburn Hills.

Make of this what you will, but I don't think it's a sign one way or the other that his future with the Pistons has been decided.

For one, for all the discussion of Kuester's absence in Chicago, I haven't seen anyone report just how many NBA coaches actually make that trip. Is he the only head coach (who's not, you know, otherwise occupied by the Conference Finals) not in attendance? Or is this something most head coaches attend? I honestly have no idea.

Either way, Kuester will play a role in preparing for the draft, though whether or not his voice will actually count for anything remains to be seen.
