The Pistons are in Winnipeg Wednesday night

Here's a Morning Shootaround in the early afternoon to get you right before Wednesday night's preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Winnipeg, Canada.

Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE

No offense to Garrett Elliott and our other Canadian readers, but I'm not exactly sure why the Pistons are in Canada tonight, because they aren't playing the Toronto Raptors. I guess Minnesota is close enough to being Canada that the NBA figured they might as well toss a game Winnipeg's way while the NHL is all locked out. Okay, seriously, here's the real reason. It's a good thing. ... Except there won't be any television broadcast.

Layup Lines with Kyle Singler:

  • The Pistons met with Detroit firefighters earlier this week. Here's Rodney Stuckey in a firefighter's uniform and Maxiell in the driver's seat of a fire truck.
  • The NBA is doing away with the 'Center' designation on the All-Star ballots, which Piston Powered thinkscould hurt Greg Monroe's chances at making an All-Star Game.
  • While some may not think Drummond should be given starter's minutes out of the gate, Steve Aschburner of NBA.com believes giving Drummond significant playing time right away could be in the Pistons' best interest:
  • Dan Feldman says Drummond will start 32 games.
  • UPDATE: I forgot to mention that I will be tweeting more from the @Detroitbadboys Twitter account this season in an effort to boost DBB's social media presence. Give the account a follow if you're not already. And Like us on Facebook.
