Fog machine delayed Pistons-Rockets game Wednesday night

With less than a minute to go in the first half, the fog machine that was going to be used for the halftime festivities went off and caused a brief delay of the Pistons-Rockets game.

Greg Monroe had just missed a free throw and was on his way back to the charity stripe for the second after a Rockets timeout. The look on Monroe's face coming out of the team huddle, as he looked toward the basket, implied "WTF is that ish?" -- or something else along those lines that Greg Monroe is more likely to think there.

That's when Fox Sports Detroit finally showed viewers the smoking machine behind the basket and fans took to Twitter [H/T PistonPowered]:

The ensuing delay while they tried to shut off the machine and wipe up the floor was only a minute or two. But I can't say that I've ever seen a basketball game get delayed because an extravagant halftime show prop malfunctioned ahead of time. That's definitely a first to me. Monroe would go on to miss the second free throw, although he also missed the first before the delay.
