Pistons vs. Magic final score: Detroit collapses to 1-9

The Pistons looked like they had a good handle on Friday night's home game against the almost equally woeful Orlando Magic, but were outscored 48-31 over the final 14 minutes, ultimately falling 110-106.

With a little under 3 minutes left in the third quarter, Greg Monroe scored a bucket to put the Pistons up 13, 75-62. After that, the Magic outscored the Pistons 48-31 over the final 14-plus minutes. It should be no surprise that Monroe took just three shots and had 2 points, and one of those shots was a Bynum-Maggette-Stuckey force job, although to be fair to Monroe, the Pistons finally decided to get him involved again when it was too late.

The Pistons led 50-44 at the half and extended that lead after vintage Tayshaun Prince opened up the third quarter with Detroit's first 10 points and Monroe followed it up with 11 of their next 14. That's the last I'd like to remember.

The Pistons played well offensively overall, with six players scoring in double figures and the team shooting 54-percent. Monroe led the team with 23 points (9-for-12 shooting). Prince had 18 on 7-for-11 shooting. Brandon Knight had a double-double with 10 points and 12 assists.

The Pistons bench was minus-38.

The Pistons host the Celtics on Sunday before getting a rematch with the Magic in Orlando next Wednesday.

Now, your thoughts.
