2012 NBA Draft Results: Detroit Pistons take Andre Drummond with 9th overall pick

After months of speculation, mocks and debates over college stats, intangibles and such, the 2012 NBA Draft is here and the Detroit Pistons have made their selection. With the No. 9 overall pick, the Pistons' brass selected Connecticut big man, and draft-day gamble, Andre Drummond.

Drummond is an extremely athletic 18-year-old who is said to have a world of potential, but many have questioned his work ethic and his stock fell after a poor tournament and some meh draft workouts. But he brings the blocks (2.7 per game to be exact) and solid post defense, and if he materializes, he could become the perfect complement to the already emerging Greg Monroe.

Drummond was in Chad Ford's Top 5 and Draft Express says he's a Best Case Serge Ibaka and a Worst Case DeAndre Jordan, so, yeah, that sounds good. This marks the third straight year that a player the Pistons really liked fell into their laps semi-late in the lottery.

We'll have more on the pick in a minute. Now, your thoughts.
