Report: Billups expected to play Thursday against Cavs

Mr. Big Shot not playing against Bulls, but he is expected to suit up vs. Cavaliers.

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Pistons are currently without their top three guards -- Brandon Jennings (tooth, jaw), Rodney Stuckey (finger) and Chauncey Billups (caution?), though it is debatable just where Stuckey falls on that list.

But while Jennings and Stuckey are both expected to miss the next couple of weeks at least, it appears that Billups is close to suiting up, at least if you believe Keith Langlois:

While Billups was considered a nice veteran presence and someone with great history with the Pistons, the team is so banged up at the guard position (Will Bynum and Peyton Siva aren't exactly 100 percent healthy), that they'll need the 37-year-old guard to hit the ground running.

There is no indication about what spot in the rotation he will take when he returns -- he could either start in place of the injured Jennings and push Bynum to the bench or could start in place of Kyle Singler.
