Andre Drummond first to the bench in Pistons' big man rotation, says Mo Cheeks

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

How will Detroit's big man rotation shake out? Pistons head coach Maurice Cheeks tipped his hand a bit over the weekend. From Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:

Cheeks confirmed he would normally sub for center Andre Drummond first as part of the rotation. Josh Smith would slide to power forward and Greg Monroe would move to center. He plans to then brings Drummond back with the second unit at the start of the second — an effort to keep the chemistry between Drummond and point guard Will Bynum.

Personally, I love the move. Drummond and Bynum clearly love playing together, and it makes sense to use Drummond with a unit that (presumably) will run the floor more frequently than the starters. Plus, given Drummond's reported issues with stamina and conditioning, getting him a breather early may help -- especially if he ends up averaging similar minutes per game as the other two big men.

Now your thoughts.
