All-Star Voting: Drummond No. 11 among bigs in Eastern Conference

The NBA has released the early returns on the All-Star game ballots. It's not good for the extremely deserving Andre Drummond

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA released early results in voting for this year's All-Star game, and it appears that if Andre Drummond has any chance of making his first All-Star game, the coaches are going to have to select him.

Andre Drummond ranks No. 11 (51,351 votes) and Josh Smith ranks No. 13 (32,025) in Eastern Conference frontcourt voting. We've already covered why Drummond deserves to start the game for the East, but in the popularity contest that is All-Star voting, Dre just doesn't have the name recognition ... yet.

While the NBA eliminated votes at traditional positions a few years ago, of players who start mostly at center, Drummond trails Roy Hibbert (208,369), Chris Bosh (156,364) Joakim Noah (75,229) and Tyson Chandler (51,738).
