While most of the attention tonight has focused on Tayshaun Prince, let's not forget that Austin Daye is returning, too. Daye spoke earlier tonight about the trade and returning to the Palace. From David Mayo of MLive.com:
"I was happy with the trade and I was glad I got the opportunity to play with a playoff team and now I'm playing good minutes and I've been productive," Daye said. "So it's been good. It's been great for me."
[...] He hasn't been told anything about his future in Memphis.
"I haven't asked yet," he said. "I'm just out here trying to play basketball the right way and help my team get wins. Then, whenever that comes up, it'll come up to my agent and the team."
Daye understandably places a little added emphasis on playing his former team for the first time.
"I think every player does," he said. "I don't think any player who gets traded from one team to another doesn't want to come back and get a win. That's what I'm looking for. I'm not really looking for an individual game tonight. I'm just looking for the team to get a win here in Detroit."
