The Pistons sacrificed their chances at the No. 5 pick with their (annual) April winning streak, but all isn't lost. After finishing with an identical 29-53 record as the Washington Wizards, the Pistons won a coin flip today to secure the No. 7 pick. You know who the Pistons drafted the last time they picked No. 7? Greg Monroe. Things could be worse. Oh, and ...
Pistons go into May 21 lottery in No. 7 spot. Just for fun, the No. 7 player on Chad Ford's Top 100 is ... Trey Burke

(Of course, nothing is official until after the NBA draft lottery on May 21-- the Pistons could theoretically slide all the way to No. 10 if three of the seven teams behind them all win the lottery. But the odds of just one of those teams winning the lottery are 89 out of 1,000 -- meaning the odds of three teams winning are ... I don't know. Really small. Someone do the math in the comments.)
The Pistons and Wizards will switch spots in the second round, with Washington picking 37th overall and Detroit going 38th. The Pistons also own the Clippers' second-round pick -- and thanks to Los Angeles winning a coin flip with Memphis, Detroit has the No. 56 pick.
