Tom Gores sells Los Angeles mansion to Christina Aguilera

New, comments

When Gores followed up by asking, "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir?" the singer reportedly punched him in the face. (Not really).

There is a lot happening on the Detroit Pistons front what with the search for a new head coach, the upcoming NBA draft, and oodles of money waiting to be (mis)spent. But we'd be remiss if we didn't point out the fact that Tom Gores, the owner of the Detroit Pistons, recently sold his Los Angeles mansion to pop star and chair turning extraordinaire Christina Aguilera for a cool $10 million.

Gores purchased the property in 1999 for $4.5 million, the same year Aguilera exploded on the scene with such hits (and I use the term as descriptively and not subjectively) as "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants."

Here are some beautiful images of the palatial estate.

That isn't the only basketball connection for the property, as before selling to X-tina, Gores was renting the space for $20,000 per month to former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star(?) and part-owner/plague on the Sacramento Kings Adrienne Maloof of the reprehensible Maloof family (I use that term both descriptively and subjectively).

If Gores can wring a 65 percent profit out of a home in just 14 years hopefully he can do the same for the Pistons, which he bought for $420 million.
