Spencer Dinwiddie to play 18-20 minutes in Pistons preseason finale

Rookie will see his first action of the preaseason.

Spencer Dinwiddie is going to play around 18-20 minutes in the Pistons preseason finale against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, according to head coach Stan Van Gundy.

Dinwiddie hasn't seen the floor so far this preseason and hasn't played in an organized basketball game since Jan. 12 as a member of the Colorado Buffaloes when he tore his ACL. The injury forced him down several draft boards and he was seen as a first-round talent who slid to the No. 38 pick and the Pistons scooped him up.

While the Pistons would never put a timetable on Dinwiddie's recovery all reports since he was drafted have been extremely positive. When the Pistons traded reserve point guard Will Bynum for big man Joel Anthony earlier this week it seemed like a sign that the team was comfortable with the idea that Dinwiddie would be available for the regular season.
