The Los Angeles Clippers mopped the STAPLES Center floors with the Detroit Pistons on Monday night, 113-91. The embarrassing spanking happened in front of the Pistons' LA-based owner Tom Gores, Billy Crystal, Prince Fielder and HeWizard.
The Pistons jumped out to a quick start, leading 19-10 halfway through the first quarter, but the fast pace caught up to the normally slow-paced Pistons. The Clippers would take the lead for good a few minutes into the second quarter when they went up 33-32. Jordan Farmar, a dude who once appeared in an episode of Entourage, scored seven straight points at one point in the quarter.
After trailing 19-10, the Clippers outscored the Pistons 103-72 in the final 42 minutes, sending most Pistons fans to bed during a lopsided third quarter in which the Clippers led by as many as 27.
Down 55-44 at the half, the Pistons flirted with covering the second half spread (+3.5) thanks to a strong 13-point fourth quarter from Jodie Meeks, but there were no answers for a Clippers offense that shot 54 percent overall, 50 percent from three and made Hedo Turkoglu look 28 again.
The Clippers had a balanced attack of six players in double figures led by Blake Griffin's 18 points.
Andre Drummond had a double-double with 18 and 13 for the Pistons. Jodie Meeks garbage timed his way to 20 points.
The Pistons took two of three on the west coast trip, so all was not lost. They head home now to take on Charlie Villanueva and the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
Now your thoughts.
