117-106 losers, the Pistons got torched by Chandler "Bing me, I'm not fat" Parsons and Monta "I'm not a ball hog; see, I had 8 assists" Ellis. The two combined for almost half of the Mavericks' overall point total (57) and 23 of the team's 30 points in the third quarter in which the Mavs outscored the Pistons by eight.
Similar to the game in LA, the Pistons hung around long enough to keep things relatively interesting through halftime, but there was once again no stopping a much higher-powered offense in the third quarter, or the second half for that matter. The Mavs shot 66 percent (!!) in the second half, 75 percent from deep, and they were unstoppable at times when the Pistons absolutely needed stops. The Mavs also had 16 extra free throw attempts.
The Pistons managed to cut the game to six a couple different times in the final minutes of the game, but each DLN was answered by Dirk Nowitzki points. Nowitzki put the nail in the coffin with a three-pointer to put the Mavs up 11 with 1:33 to go in the game.
Another monster effort from Andre Drummond -- 19 points, 24 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks -- was rendered 'empty' by the loss. Drummond's word. Jonas Jerebko shined in the fourth quarter with 13 points on five shots. Josh Smith only played 1:59 in the second half after picking up his fourth foul early in the third.
Charlie Villanueva did not play.
Brandon Jennings did this.
