NBA Draft 2014: Pistons take Spencer Dinwiddie with 38th overall pick

Finally, the Pistons got their turn to pick, and they took Spencer Dinwiddie, shootingcombo guard, from Colorado.

The Detroit Pistons have selected shooting combo guard Spencer Dinwiddie with the 38th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He is the first new player of the Stan Van Gundy era.

Dinwiddie may have been a first round pick, but he tore his ACL in January. He went No. 29 to the Thunder in DraftExpress' final mock draft and was No. 35 on SB Nation's big board, so the Pistons may have received good value here.

College Stats: Junior season: 14.7 points in 31 minutes per game on just under eight shots, 52-percent from two, 41-percent from three on just under four attempts per game, 86-percent from the stripe on seven attempts per game. He averaged 3.8 assists opposite 1.8 turnovers.
