The Detroit Pistons and D.J. Augustin have agreed to a 2-year, $6 million contract, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Augustin, who turns 27 in November, split last season between the Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls. He averaged 13.1 points, 4.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 27.3 minutes per game.
Like most of the players Stan Van Gundy has targeted this offseason, Augustin brings long-distance shooting that the Pistons sorely missed last year: he shot 40.1 percent on 4.7 attempts per game from beyond the arc.
Augustin's arrival immediately calls into question the status of point guards Peyton Siva, whose contract for this coming season isn't fully guaranteed until July 20, and Will Bynum, who's entering the final year of his contract and is scheduled to earn $2.9 million.
Free agent guard DJ Augustin has reached a two-year, $6 million deal with the Detroit Pistons, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
