2014 Summer League: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's 30 points leads Pistons to 85-82 win

New, comments

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Peyton Siva once again played well in the Pistons' second 2014 Orlando Summer League win.

The Pistons grabbed five puppy points in the 85-82 win, but more importantly, we're getting a glimpse at just how good Kentavious Caldwell-Pope can be. After dropping 26 points with six steals in the Orlando Summer League opener, KCP poured in 30 more with 12 rebounds on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Sure, it's only two summer league games -- Austin Daye scoffs -- but KCP is picking up where he left off after a strong finish to the regular season, proving to be much more comfortable in a professional basketball setting. On top of his 56 points, KCP is 6-for-13 from deep and has been to the free throw line 16 times. He is playing very confident and it's fun to see.

Peyton Siva also had another strong game running the point in 28 minutes, assisting seven baskets opposite only two turnovers, giving him a two-game total of 13 assists and only four turnovers.

Tony Mitchell struggled to get anything going again, fouling everything in sight.

Justin Harper had a strong debut, scoring 11 on 5-for-8 shooting.

Mike Payne, who was seated front and center at the Magic practice facility, will have plenty more on the first two games sometime today:
