There was never any indication whether or not Stan Van Gundy planned to keep him around -- and in what role, because he wasn't listed on Van Gundy's staff at the end of May -- but I guess it officially doesn't matter now. Scott Roth is going overseas to coach Cajasol Sevilla, according to ESPN's Marc Stein on Friday.

As my neighbor @franfraschilla notes, that means projected 2015 lottery pick Kristaps Porzingis gets NBA-style coaching this season w/Roth

Roth was hired by the Pistons in February to serve as an assistant coach to the promoted John Loyer after Maurice Cheeks was canned. Roth, 51, had previously been an assistant for the Raptors for four years and has also spent time with the Mavericks, Grizzlies and Warriors. This is his second head coaching gig, as he was the one-time head coach of the D-League's Bakersfield Jam. He played college ball at Wisconsin and has played overseas in Spain.
Good luck over there, Scott.
