The Detroit Pistons announced on New Year's eve that they have sent rookie Spencer Dinwiddie to the Grand Rapids Drive prior to the pro team's trip to New York to take on the Knicks on Friday night.
Keith Langlois posted the news first on Twitter:

Dinwiddie played some garbage minutes (three to be exact) on Tuesday night against the Orlando Magic, but he had sat out five straight games prior to that. Dinwiddie had a bucket, steal and an assist against the Magic.
The Drive play at home on Thursday and Saturday, sandwiching the Pistons' road game on Friday night. The move was made to presumably get Dinwiddie some meaningful minutes, even if it's not at the pro level, before returning to the Pistons.
Dinwiddie, the 38th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, has played in only eight games this season and Tuesday was his first playing time in a win.
Now your thoughts.
