The Detroit Pistons turned things around nicely after their last preseason performance, beating up on the Milwaukee Bucks 117-88 on Saturday night. Marcus Morris led the way with 21 points on 8-for-10 shooting. Reggie Jackson had a nice rebound game by scoring 17 points and dishing out eight assists. Andre Drummond added 17 points. Stanley Johnson started off rough, but ended up putting in a solid performance with 15 points on 5-for-12 shooting and six rebounds.
Greg Monroe played 25 minutes for the Bucks and had 18 points, with his usual sweet footwork in the post. Bucks rookie Rashad Vaughn came off the bench to score 11 in 23 minutes. Michael Carter-Williams also contributed with 14 points.
The Pistons hit the ground running in this game and took an early big lead and never looked back. Although the game was not televised, so I could not see, the box score gives the appearance that their defense was much better. That has been an issue so far this preseason, so that is nice to "see." The Pistons were even able to get Jordan Bachynski and Darrun Hilliard out there for some burn because of the rout.
